When the time came for Abel to make his own way in the world, his parents gave him some parting gifts -- a walking stick, a knife, a large pot, some herbs and seeds, and a book with golden letters. With these, Abel sets off, traveling for many days. He finally settles down, building himself a house and planting a garden in a clearing in the forest. But the forest belongs to a wolf -- an angry and jealous wolf who watches Abel’s every move and deviously plots to attack him and steal everything he owns. How Abel uses the parting gifts from his parents tot urn a fearsome foe into a faithful friend is a testament to the power of kindness -- and good food.
